Isolated

These are from a winter storm I was out in with my mama a year ago in Upstate New York.

Diagonal Growth

Personal/spiritual growth is never in a straight line. Many times we feel like we're growing straight up toward God and then something knocks us off our upward trajectory. We may feel as if we are no longer growing when that happens but we are, just diagonally instead of vertically.

Forgotten Fall

This past Fall 2011 had some of the most vibrant color I've seen in a long time. These are pics from The National Arboretum I forgot to post. Lot's of forgetting going on last fall/winter. The one with the stump is one of my favorites. I love this tree stump. I have a few photos of it on this blog from different visits. Something about tree stumps appeals to me. Probably got it from my mama. She's a stump lover too.

My Favorite Grove

The first and last of these photos is from my favorite grove of trees in The National Arboretum. The twisted trunks of these trees speaks to me. Not sure what it says but it's surely speaking. The middle photo is from the path out of The Bonsai Gardens. The straight lines of those trees appeals to me too.

Distorted Bonsai

One of the Bonsai trees at The National Arboretum. It was set in front of this window with an intricate carving in it. I like the way the tree and the carving blend. Hard to tell where one starts and the other stops.

God's Art

More of God's beauty that I forgot to post last year.

Origami

These are from last spring at The National Arboretum. Delicate beauty.

Unpublished

These are from last spring. Never got around to posting them.

Car Wash Pic

I took these while waiting for my car to be washed a few weeks ago. I altered the amount of shadowing in these photos.

God's Light

God's light shining down on me back when I was living in darkness. Surrounding myself with worldly things. Trying my best to ignore Him and remove Him from my day to day life. Thank God He never gives up on us.

Ominous

My mama took this a few years ago. I altered it with deeper shadows.

Beautiful View

View from the Catholic seminary in North East Washington DC. A friend told me some call the area little Vatican. I can see why.

These are shots from when me and my mama and my friend Carla used to go out doing our own photo shoots. Great times.

Younguns

These are from waaaaay back when Lenny was young and I still had hair. All taken by my mama.

Pierced

The sun in this picture is our heart. The clouds and the contrail passing in front of the sun are our sadness. Our sins. The clouds/darkness may be all around us and actually pierce our hearts sometimes but the warmth and light of our hearts and God persist.
